- Set the start date and end date.
- The tool computes the difference in days, weeks, months and years.
- It also breaks the period into weekdays and weekend days, so you can see business days versus days off at a glance.
All dates are processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so you can safely compare project milestones, deadlines and personal dates.
The higher-level figures (weeks, months, years) are approximations of the total amount of time between the two dates, while the day count is exact. Weekdays and weekend days help you plan around work weeks.
Tips
For exact elapsed days, use the Days figure — that is the precise count. Months and years are convenient summaries for goals like “in 6 months” or “3 years apart”, but the exact day count is what you need for legal deadlines and contracts. When counting working days, rely on the Weekdays result rather than dividing total days.
If your two dates span a weekend or holiday, the weekday figure will be lower than the total days. Some use cases want calendar days; some want business days — this tool gives you both.
Why use it
Finding how many days lie between two dates is a constant need for planning events, tracking deadlines, scheduling travel and estimating durations. Doing it by hand invites miscalculation around month lengths and leap years. This calculator is instant, free and runs entirely in your browser, so your dates never leave your device.
